Your energy introduces you before you say a word. – N. Anderson
Before we speak, before we act, our energy sets the tone. The way we carry ourselves, the kindness in our presence, and the intention behind our actions all speak louder than words. When we live with love and lead with light, we create an atmosphere where others feel safe, inspired, and valued
However, it’s easy to forget the impact of our energy. We tend to focus more on what we say, how we perform, or what we accomplish without realizing that it is our presence shaping the experience for those around us.
Energy Speaks Before Words Do
As Maya Angelou famously said, “People may not always remember exactly what you said, but they will remember how you made them feel.” That feeling often comes from the energy you bring—not just your words. When you walk into a room with warmth and openness, it puts people at ease before a single word is spoken.
Conversely, when someone walks into a room carrying stress and frustration, it shifts the energy of the entire space. Your energy is a silent introduction, an invitation (or barrier) you extend to others before the conversation even begins.
Here are a few ways to align your leadership and energy:
-
Check In with Yourself Before you Show Up
Before entering a meeting, a conversation, or even your home at the end of the day, take a moment to pause. Ask yourself: What energy am I carrying right now? How do I want others to feel in my presence?
-
Lead from a Place of Love, Not Ego
When we lead with love, we show up with humility, patience, and a genuine desire to uplift others. When we lead from ego, we bring defensiveness, insecurity, and a need to prove ourselves. The difference is felt instantly.
-
Be Present- Fully and Authentically
Your energy is strongest when you’re fully engaged in the moment. Put the phone down. Make eye contact. Listen without thinking about your response. Presence is one of the most powerful ways to communicate care.
-
Protect Your Energy to Protect Your Impact
You can’t pour from an empty cup. If you’re constantly drained, you’ll struggle to bring positive energy into the spaces you enter. Prioritize rest, set boundaries, and surround yourself with people who recharge you.
Be the Light
The way you show up in the world matters. Long before you speak, long after you leave, your energy lingers. When you lead with love and walk in light, you create ripples of impact—without ever needing to say a word.
Here’s to living into your love-led energy!
