As we enter 2026, may we choose what heals, listen with intention, and lead toward the world we hope to build. – N. Anderson

The clock strikes twelve, the old year fades,
A year full of emotion, from joy to outrage.
We all carried the weight, unsure of what’s next,
With burdens and blessings, it’s all so complex.

The world still trembles, unsure of its way,
So, we must focus living day by day.
But when we stop, and place our feet on the ground,
We open up space where hope can be found.

Let’s be true in our kindness; don’t let fear impede.
Be the calm in the storm, a voice that we need.
The world doesn’t need perfection or pride,
Simply some compassion to serve as a guide.

Let’s make room for silence. Give ourselves grace.
Be the peace that restores what chaos erased.
As empathy grows, give more than you must,
Be generous with time, grounded in trust.

And if the days darken, and despair settles in,
Let love be your lantern, your strength deep within.
And remember real change begins with you,
In how you show up, in all that you do.

So, here’s to 2026, a year still unwritten,
Let it be shaped by the ways we can listen.
Listen with heart and listen with care.
To build something better in the world we all share.

Happy New Year!

Love,

Nicki
